Cleveland had a chance to win game one of the NBA finals, but JR Smith forgot the score. With the game tied at Golden State 107-107 with under five seconds to play, Smith grabbed a missed free throw right in front of the Warriors basket and could have given the Cavaliers the lead with an easy lay up. However, Smith thought Cleveland was ahead by a point and instead he ran out the clock, which sent the game into overtime. The Warriors took over in the extra session and cruised to a 124-114 win and a 1-0 series lead. LeBron James scored 51 points for Cleveland, while Stephen Curry led Golden State with 29 points. Kevin Durant added 26 for the Warriors and Clay Thompson had 24. Game two is Sunday in Oakland, California.
