The Detroit Red Wings did not win the NHL draft lottery, as the No.1 overall pick will go to the Buffalo Sabres. The Wings in fact lost at the lottery, falling back to sixth overall from No. 5, where they began the day. The lottery took place on Saturday and the NHL draft will take place in June.
