A Port Huron teen is charged after taking to a famous football player’s Instagram profile to make threats against his own school.
New England Patriot Julian Edelman tells the New York Times that someone direct messaged him on his account. He told him to check the comments on his account. His assistant located the chilling remark, which read, “I’m going to shoot my school up… watch the news.” The assistant then called Port Huron police. Inside the 14-year-old’s home, investigators found two rifles that belonged to his mother. The boy admitted to posting the comment, which threatened Central Middle School. He is charged with making a false report or threat of terrorism, a four-year felony in Michigan.
