The Detroit Tigers played to a 2-2 spring training tie with the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday as James McCann and Jacoby Jones combined for five hits, while each hitting a solo home run for the Tigers. The teams close out the exhibition schedule on Tuesday against each other, before the Tigers head north to Detroit for the season opener on Thursday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Jordan Zimmermann will get the opening day pitching duties for the Tigers.
