Crazy Finish Ends Bad For Wings

The Detroit Red Wings lost in overtime 7-6 to the New York Islanders on Friday night, in one of the strangest games of the season.  The Wings led 5-2 in the third period, when Tyler Bertuzzi received a five minute penalty with about six minutes to play.  On the ensuing power play the Islanders scored four times to take a 6-5 lead with just over a minute left in regulation.  Mike Green tied the scored in the final minute of play for the Wings, before Brock Nelson completed a hat trick to give the Isles the win in OT.  Mathew Barzal ended the night with five assists for New York.  Henrik Zetterberg had a goal and three assists for Detroit, while Anthony Mantha scored a pair of goals, and Green finished with a goal and an assist.  The Red Wings play in Washington on Sunday afternoon.
