The new year brings a new list of words which should be banished. The 43rd annual list from Lake Superior State University is compiled from tens of thousands of nominations. This year’s list includes words and phrases like “fake news,” “drill down,” and “gig economy.” Out of tens of thousands of nominations, “fake news” received the most nominations. Organizer John Shibley says this years popular entries also included some common words like hot water heater and tons; along with statements like “let me ask you this.”
