Kansas City scored nine runs in the seventh inning on their way to a 16-2 win over the Tigers on Wednesday night, giving them a sweep in Detroit and an eight game winning streak. Eric Hosmer had five hits, scored five runs, hit a grand slam, and drove in six runs for the Royals. KC smacked out 22 hits and the Tigers were forced to use infielder Andrew Romine to pitch two thirds of an inning in the ninth. Detroit returns to action on Friday at home against the Houston Astros.
