Whit Merrifield hit a home run to lead off the game and the Kansas City Royals beat the Detroit Tigers 3-1 on Tuesday night for their 7th win in a row. Michael Fulmer took the loss, but went eight innings, allowing three runs on eight hits, no walks, with six strike outs for the Tigers. Detroit tries to win the series finale on Wednesday night at Comerica Park.
