
An hour after free agency started on Saturday, the Detroit Red Wings added two defensemen to the fold. Veteran Trevor Daley inked a three year deal worth $9.5 million and three year pro Luke Witkowski signed a two year deal worth $1.5 million. Daley is 33 and has played for 13 seasons in the NHL, in a total of 894 games for Dallas, Chicago, and Pittsburgh. He has 78 goals and 200 assists in the his career. Witkowski, a 27 year old native of Holland, Michigan, has spent parts of three season in Tampa Bay, playing 54 career games with four assists.
