The Detroit Red Wings made a pair of deals on Tuesday, sending defenseman Brendan Smith to the New York Rangers fora 2018 2nd round draft pick and a 2017 3rd round pick. In a second deal, Detroit sent forward Steve Ott to Montreal for a 2018 6th round selection. The NHL trade deadline is at 3 PM EST on Wednesday.
