The NHL trade deadline passed on Wednesday with the Red Wings making a final deal. Forward Thomas Vanek was dealt to Florida for a conditional 3rd round draft pick, and prospect Dylan McIlrath. Vanek was leading the Wings with 15 goals this season. McIlrath, a defenseman, is a former 1st pick of the Rangers and has played just 43 NHL games. The Florida has two picks in the third round, if they make the playoffs, the Wings will get the better pick.
