Thomas Vanek scored the only goal of the game on Monday, as the Detroit Red Wings shutout the Montreal Canadiens 1-0 at Joe Louis Arena. Jared Coreau made 18 saves for the shutout. The Wings have won two in a row and host Boston on Wednesday night.
