The Detroit Lions suffered their third straight loss, and missed out on a chance to win their first division title in 23 years on New Years Day.  However, they still made the playoffs on Sunday, thanks to a 19-10 loss by the Washington Red Skins to the New York Giants.  The Lions, who fell 31-24 to the Green Bay Packers, will make it into the post season as the final wild card team in the NFC.  Matthew Stafford threw for 347 yards and two touchdowns in the loss, while the Packers Aaron Rodgers tossed four touchdown passes for Green Bay.  Detroit will travel to Seattle to face the Seahawks next Saturday.  Kick off is set for 8:15 PM.
