Detroit Tigers pitcher Michael Fulmer has been named the American League Rookie of the Year. The 23 year old right hander went (11-7) with a (3.06) earned run average for Detroit, after starting the season in the minor leagues. Fulmer is the fifth Tiger to win the honor, and the first since Justin Verlander did it in 2006.
