The Detroit Red Wings completed a solid preseason on Saturday night, with a 4-3 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs at Joe Louis Arena. Gus Nyquist had a goal and an assist for the Wings, who went (6-1-1) in eight exhibition contests. Dylan Larkin, Brendan Smith, and Anthony Mantha also had goals. The Wings must trim three players off their roster by Tuesday. Detroit will open the regular season in Tampa Bay on Thursday.
