Gerald Holmes scored the first touchdown of the game, but Michigan State allowed 24 unanswered points, and lost on Saturday 31-14 to BYU. Holmes had 15 carries for 57 yards, and caught 4 passes for 22 yards in the loss. Michigan State (2-3) will try to snap a three game losing streak next week at home against Northwestern.
