Tomorrow evening sees the return of an annual event to help fight crime in the local area. It’s the 2018 Cops and Jocks Spaghetti Dinner to benefit the Port Huron Police Department’s C.A.P.T.U.R.E. (Crime Awareness and Prevention Through a Unified Reporting Effort) program. The C.A.P.T.U.R.E. program provides cash rewards for tips that lead to the arrest of a suspect. Port Huron Police Chief Joe Platzer says it takes the funds raised at tomorrow night’s dinner to sustain the program throughout the year. Recently, a tip to the C.A.P.T.U.R.E. hotline resulted in the arrest of a Port Huron man suspected of shooting his father earlier this month. The Cops and Jocks Dinner takes place from 4 to 8pm at the Seaway Terminal on Military Street in Port Huron tomorrow.
