Shooting suspect now in custody

The suspect wanted in connection to a Port Huron Township shooting earlier this month is now in custody. 19 year old Mack Kuefler was arrested around 5pm Monday Ocotber 8th at a home in the 600 block of 11th Street in Port Huron. Kuefler is believed to have shot his father in the face at a house in the 2600 block of Oak Street on October 1st. Authorities say he fled the scene on a bicycle and had not been seen since. The Port Huron Police Department received a tip that Kuefler was at the 11th Street house, where he was arrested after about 15 minutes of negotiating. He is currently being housed in the St. Clair County jail and charges are pending.

Sheriff’s deputies are looking for a man who shot and injured a man in a Sunday morning dispute. Authorities tell WPHM the shooting happened around 10am Sunday morning at a house in the 2600 block of Oak Street in Port Huron Township. One man was shot and further investigations determined the suspect was the son of the victim. He is believed to have fled the scene on a bicycle. The victim was taken to an area hospital where he is recovering from a gunshot wound to the face. The suspect is believed to be Mack Kuefler, described as a white male, 19 years of age, approximately 6-foot 2-inches tall and weighing 180 pounds. He was last spotted with a black tank top and black pants. Anybody with information about Max Kuefler’s whereabouts is urged to call 911 immediately. Investigations into the shooting are ongoing.
