Marysville opened the high school football season on Thursday night with a 38-21 win over the Richmond Blue Devils. The Vikings Dante Chcrek rushed for 140 yards and scored two touchdowns. In other action, Northern fell in its opener at Fraser 43-21. Billy Fealko tossed a pair of touchdown passes for the Huskies, while Tony Montgomery returned a fumble 99 yards for a score. At East China, Algonac eked out a 7-2 win over host Marine City. The Rats Nick Folkerts caught a ten yard pass on fourth down for the games only touchdown. Yale rushed for 335 yards, led by Alex Kovatch who had 112, 75 of which came on a touchdown run, on their way to a 13-0 win over North Branch. Almont, Anchor Bay, Deckerville, and New Haven Merritt also had wins on Thurdsay.
