Michigan is (4-0) to start the college basketball season, after beating SMU on Friday night 76-54 in New York.  Derrick Walton led the Wolverines in scoring with 23 points.

No. 13 Michigan State earned its first win of the college basketball season on Friday night, crushing Mississippi Valley State 100-53 in East Lansing.  Miles Bridges led the way with 24 points and 11 rebounds for MSU.
