
St. Clair softball added a district title to its resume on Saturday, beating Marysville and Marine City to advance to next weeks regional at Country Day. Olivia Young hit a first inning three-run home run in the semi-final, as the Saints beat Marysville 3-0. Alexis Churchill tossed a four hit shutout with seven strike outs. In the other semi-final, Marine City beat Algonac 18-2. Morgan McConnell had three hits, including a triple, and knocked in a run, while Riley Wood added two hits and three RBI. In the final, the Mariners scored first on a first inning two-run home run from Madison Morse, but the Saints won it in the bottom of the seventh 5-2, on a three-run walk-off home run from Lydia Hiller. Hiller also had a triple and scored the Saints first run of the game. St. Clair will face Richmond in the regional semi-final next Saturday at Detroit Country Day.
