Huskies Beat Rival, But Fall In Final

Port Huron Northern beat cross town rival Port Huron High 5-0 on Friday in the semi-finals of the Division 1 Baseball District at Anchor Bay.  Nolan Shagena went the distance, allowing just four hits and striking out 13 Big Reds.  Brett Wagner took the loss despite whiffing ten Huskies in just five innings of work.  James DeLong and Andrew Touma had RBI singles in the win, whiole Nolan Sciotti and Andy MacLean each drove in a run with a sac-fly.  In the championship game the Huskies lost to host Anchor Bay in 8 innings 4-3.  Northern led 3-2 in the seventh, but the Tars Mitch Strunk tied the game with an RBI single.  Leonard Frost drove in the game winning run in the 8th with a double, his third hit of the game.  Bryce Reeves, Brady Chicone, and James DeLong had RBI for the Huskies.
