The Richmond softball team has won the State Championship, beating Vicksburg 2-0 in the finals on Saturday. The Blue Devils are the Blue Water Area’s first State Champ in softball since 1994. Erin Shuboy pitched the 14th no-hitter in State Finals history, facing the minimum and allowing just one walk, while striking out seven. Shuboy also drove in the games first run with a ground out. Richmond manager Howard Stuart has now won 954 games in his 38 year career, but this was his first State Title in four try’s.
