Pair of paving projects begin Monday

A road construction project will result in some temporary lane closures on Rabidue Road in St. Clair County’s Clyde Township. Starting Monday, contractors will be placing hot mix asphalt on Rabidue for a half mile north of Lapeer. Access will be maintained for local residents with the use of flaggers. This project is financed by the St. Clair County Road Commission and Clyde Township at a total estimated cost for construction of $86,000. Work is scheduled to be completed by June 21st.

Also starting Monday, a road construction project will close Griswold Road between Allen and the I-69 Business loop in Kimball and Port Huron Townships. Work will include resurfacing the existing asphalt, new shoulders, pavement markings, and the replacement of the railroad grade crossing. Local residents are encouraged to plan for delays due to construction which is expected to approximately 2 weeks. The project is financed by the Federal Highway Administration and St. Clair County Road Commission with an estimated construction cost of nearly $400,00 dollars. Work will be performed by Ace Saginaw Paving Company.
