Pine Grove accident victim identified

The woman who died in a fatal New Years Day car accident has been identified. 18 year old Emily Lynn Knox of Port Huron was the victim of a fatal single vehicle crash on Pine Grove Avenue Tuesday afternoon. She was the front seat passenger in a 2012 Chevrolet Camaro driven by a Port Huron man that lost control and struck a utility pole, killing Knox and injuring two back seat passengers. She was a criminal justice student at Saginaw Valley State University and a 2018 graduate of Landmark Academy. A visitation for Emily Knox will be held Sunday and Monday from 1 to 3 pm at the Marysville Funderal Home. According to the Port Huron Police Department, speed is believed to be a factor in the crash. An autopsy is pending and investigations continue.

The Port Huron Police Department is investigating a fatal car New Years Day car crash. Authorities say the accident happened around 3:45 pm yesterday afternoon along Pine Grove Avenue between Stone and Lyon Street. A 2012 Chevrolet Camaro driven by a 20 year old Port Huron man lost control and left the roadway while heading northbound on Pine Grove avenue. The vehicle struck a telephone pole and rolled over.  Police say a front seat passenger, an 18 year old woman from Port Huron Township, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. Two back seat passengers, an 18 year old man and 19 year old female, were taken to McLaren Port Huron Hospital for treatment and later released. Port Huron Police say the results of the investigation will be shared with the St. Clair County Prosecutor to determine any possible charges.
