Michael Gerber had his first Big League hit, and RBI double in the 8th inning, that proved to be the difference in a 2-1 Tigers win over the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday night. Niko Goodrum added a home run for the Tigers, who had just three hits in the game. Matt Boyd got the win tossing eight shutout innings and allowing just four hits while striking out seven. Game two of the inter-league series is set for Wednesday afternoon at Comerica Park.
