The Port Huron Prowlers had the best team in the Federal Hockey League in the regular season, so it made sense that they would take the most honors.  Froward Branden Parkhouse was named the FHL MVP, after leading Port Huron in scoring with 82 points.  It is the second year in a row a Port Huron player has won MVP honor, after Matt Robertson took home the award last season.  Robertson and Parkhouse were also among six forwards honored by the league as Forwards of the Year, while Josh Colten shared Defenseman of the Year honors with Watertown’s Kyle Powell.  Goalie Michael Santaguida took home two awards, being named FHL Goalie of the Year, as well as Rookie of the Year, after posting a 23-1-1 record.  Finally head coach Joe Pace Sr. was named Coach of the Year after leading Port Huron to a 44-7-2 record.  The team set FHL marks for wins (44) and points (131) and became the first team from Port Huron to finish first overall in its league since the 1964-65 Flags won the IHL.  Playoffs begin on Friday as the Prowlers face Danville in a best-of-three semi-final series.  Game two and if needed game three will be played at McMorran Arena on Saturday and Sunday.
