Three turnovers proved costly on Saturday night as Michigan State lost to Notre Dame 38-18 in East Lansing. The Spartans suffered their first loss of the season, despite getting 340 yards passing and two touchdowns from Brian Lewerke and 485 total yards on offense. The Spartans will face Iowa next Saturday in their Big Ten opener, before playing Michigan in two weeks.
