Vikings Win Playoff Opener

The Marysville Vikings improved to (10-0) on the season, as they opened the playoffs with a wild 48-36 win over St. Clair Shores South Lake on Friday night.  Dante Chrcek rushed for 170 yards and three touchdowns for the Vikings, while Carson Warren added three touchdowns of his own in the fourth quarter for Marysville.  Warren entered the game in the third quarter after Phill Griffor was injured, and rushed nine times for 95 yards.  Griffor had 134 yards on the ground when he left the game.  South Lake receiver Jarrod Vines caught nine passes for 234 yards and four touchdowns, and added a fifth score on a fumble return.  Marysville will face either Detroit Country Day or Carnbrook next week.  Those teams play on Saturday.  In other playoff games on Friday, Port Huron Northern lost to Grosse Pointe South 32-6, Cros-Lex fell to Corunna 48-14, Algonac shutout Detroit Denby 14-0, Almont upset Richmond 28-27, and New Haven Merritt crushed Owen-Gage 52-14.  Deckerville will host Webberville on Saturday.
