
The Detroit Tigers ripped open a tight ball game with a six run ninth inning, and beat the Minnesota Twins 9-2 on Wednesday afternoon, in game one of a day-night double header. Victor Martinez smacked a pinch hit three run home run, while Justin Upton added a solo blast, and Andrew Romine picked up three hits and scored twice in the win. Game two of the double header is set for 8:10 PM Wednesday night. Detroit is a half game out of a playoff spot with eleven games to play in the season.
