After blowing the lead in the 8th, the Tigers stormed back for two runs in the ninth, beating the Kansas City Royals 7-6 in the first game of a big three game series on Friday night. Miguel Cabrera drove in fours, hitting a home run, and knocking a two run go ahead single in the ninth. Justin Upton added a home run for the Tigers, who the Royals again on Saturday night in Kansas City.
