A woman is recovering after being pulled from the St. Clair River in Port Huron. According to Port Huron Fire Department Battalion Chief James Hayes, the unidentified woman was found Friday afternoon in the middle of the St. Clair River east of Pine Grove Park, near the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Hollyhock’s dock.
“The call came in around 12:30pm and within 10 minutes the boat was at the patient,” said Hayes, adding that firefighters from Central Station used the department’s rescue boat moored on Quay Street.
The victim was transported to the U.S. Coast Guard Station in Port Huron by the Fire Department and transferred to Tri-Hospital EMS for treatment at an area hospital. It is believed that woman entered the river from the Blue Water Bridge.
