Port Huron City Council will be receiving some assistance from the Community Foundation of St. Clair County to complete the McMorran Place Plaza improvement project. Port Huron Mayor Pauline Repp says council formerly requested $200,000 worth of funding at their Monday night meeting but there’s still a ways to go to raise the $1.4 million dollars needed to complete it. “There’s still a little gap,” said Repp. “We’re working on getting the money to fill that gap but the project is moving forward at this time. Plans call for the plaza in front of Mcmorran to be repurposed into an outdoor ice skating rink.
