Now through July 19th, expect to see a heightened law enforcement presence throughout St. Clair County as part of the national Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign. The annual program kicked off just before the July 4th holiday and is designed to help protect the lives of local motorists. In 2019, there were nearly 10,000 alcohol involved crashes in Michigan with nearly 300 fatalities. Sheriff Tim Donnellon says if you are going to a party over the next couple of weeks, remember to drive sober or to designate a driver. The Port Huron Police Department will also be teaming up with the Sheriff’s Office for the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign.
