Port Huron man arrested for string of robberies

A suspect wanted in connection for several armed robberies over a two month period in police custody. The Port Huron Police Department says they arrested 40 year old Ronald Eugene Martin Friday morning believed to be responsible for the crimes. Between November 28th of this past year through January 26th, the suspect is believed to have robbed five businesses ranging from gas stations to a video store to a hotel. Additionally, Martin is accused of robbing two residences in the 2800 block of Conner and the 1300 block of 19th Street. Ronald Eugene Martin was arraigned over the weekend on five counts of armed robbery and is currently lodged in the St. Clair County Jail on $200,000 bond.
