No. 16 Michigan State is back in first place in a first place tie with No. 9 Maryland in the Big Ten, after the Spartans beat No. 20 Penn State on the road 79-71 on Tuesday night, while Maryland lost at Rutgers 78-67. State got 23 points and 14 rebounds from Xavier Tillman and will host Ohio State on Sunday in their final regular season game. A win over the Buckeyes insures the Spartans no worse than a share of the regular season league title.
