The Village of Port Sanilac will be disbanding it’s police department and opting to instead contract with the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office for law enforcement services.  According to Sheriff Gary Biniecki, deputies will begin patrolling the village for an estimated 30-to-36 hours per month with more hours being added during busy summer months. In the event that Village residents need assistance from a law enforcement officer they are encouraged to contact Sanilac County Central Dispatch at 648-2000, or in the case of an emergency, dial 9-1-1. The contract will take effect Tuesday, June 11th.
