Lynx found in thumb returned to the wild

dnr-2

The Canada lynx that was found in northern Sanilac County last month is now back safe in the wild. After it was found preying on a farmer’s domestic geese, the Department of Natural Resources worked to trap the cat and take it to the Howell Nature Center for treatment. It was then evaluated at the Detroit Zoo. Once the animal received approval from veterinarians, the lynx was released into the wild in the upper peninsula’s Schoolcraft County.
