Gas prices fall statewide, locally

Gas prices have dropped nine cents in the past week in Michigan to a statewide average of $2.72 a gallon. That’s 39 cents less that this year’s high price according to AAA of Michigan. It’s also the same average prices as this time last year. The highest price is in Marquette at $2.89 a gallon and the lowest is in Grand Rapids-Muskegon-Holland at $2.65 a gallon. Across the local area, pumps in Lapeer are asking about $2.66 a gallon, meanwhile gas is about $2.69 in Sandusky, and Port Huron area pumps are asking $2.67 on average for a gallon of regular unleaded.
