Work has resumed at the Bluewater View Condo site in Downtown Port Huron after an over two week work stoppage. On October 15th, orange “do not occupy” tags were placed at the job site entrance of the under-construction condo building. The tags were signed by the Port Huron Building Inspector who was awaiting proper documentation from the Bluewater View developers. As of November 1st, work the tags were removed and work commenced on the property. David Haynes, City of Port Huron Planning Director, told WPHM they received the necessary documents and that the stop work order has been lifted.

During an interview with WPHM last week, Port Huron City Manager James Freed commented on the work stoppage.”We were not satisfied with the level of mechanical designs that we needed,” said the City Manager. Freed added that developers LeRoy and Allen Stevens  have been, “great to work with.”

ORIGINAL STORY:

A stop work order has been issued by the City of Port Huron for the under-construction Bluewater View Condo building. Yesterday afternoon, bright orange tags appeared at the construction site. The tags read “This building does not meet the minimum code, do not occupy.” The tags are dated October 15th and are signed by the Port Huron Building Inspector. City officials tell WPHM they are awaiting documentation from the developers of the condo building and it is only temporary. The project is being headed up by brothers LeRoy and Allen Stevens who broke ground on the project nearly a year ago. Earlier this month, the developers celebrated the building reaching it’s maximum height of ten stories.
