The Detroit Pistons got 6’11” 240 lbs. forward Henry Ellenson from Marquette with the 18th pick of the first round. Ellenson was projected as a potential top ten selection. In the second round, Detroit grabbed guard/forward Michael Gbinije from Syracuse with the 49th pick. Michigan State’s Denzel Valentine landed in Chicago (14th pick), and Deyonta Davis ended up with Memphis (31st pick). Caris LeVert from Michigan was taken by Indiana (20th pick), and Oakland University’s Kay Felder was taken 54th overall by Atlanta, and then traded to Cleveland.
