Nearly 400-thousand residents in southern Michigan and northern Ohio were told over the weekend not to drink water out of their taps. Officials have even warned residents not to boil the water, because it will not get rid of the toxin that has contaminated the water which comes from Lake Erie. While the greater Toledo area is most affected by the ban, four Monroe County communities have also been told not to drink or boil their water. Reports say toxins possibly from algae on Lake Erie have tainted the water supply. Early Monday morning officials lifted the ban after consitent testing showed no further problem with toxins.
