LOVING the weather just lately! I know we had a few hot and steamy days, but sunny and in the 80's is exactly how it should be in July. I'm going to try to enjoy it as much as possible, while getting ready for all the events of next week. The Rotary Club International Day Parade is next Wednesday at 6:30 pm and we'll have live coverage on WPHM. And then Friday July 22nd as we count down to Boat Night, Port Huron's biggest party of the year, we'll be broadcasting all day from the West Quay Street Parking lot, along the banks of the Black River. From the Morning Show, right through lunchtime, and all afternoon long, until the sun begins to set, we will be talking to people associated with Blue Water Fest (maybe a special performance from .38 Special???), the Bell's Beer Bayview Port Huron to Mackinac sailboat race, the Port Huron Yacht Club, and many others. Be sure to stop by and say hi! Then on race day we'll start the morning with Doug and Michelle Gravelle at the Port Huron Yacht Club before heading over to Sails at Sunrise at the Fort Gratiot Lighthouse. We'll also join Bill Gilmer from one of the boats on the starting line, and we'll be anchored by our own Dennis Stuckey who - though he hates to admit it - is on his way to "old goat" status having now covered 17 of these things (sailing in 25 of the Port Huron to Mackinac races makes you an "old goat" in sailing circles). Then on Sunday morning Dennis and I will head up to the island for the finish of the race - the morning show is live from Mission Point Resort on Monday July 25th and Tuesday July 26th. It'll be busy, but this really is the best time of the year here in Port Huron!
