The Black River Golf and Country Club goes up for bid in an auction to be conducted next month. The auction is being done by the Hilco Real Estate company, with them saying the property has a suggested opening bid of $1-point-65-million dollars. It's described as an operating 18-hole golf course with a full service restaurant, banquet and conference facilities, located just 2-miles from Canada across the Blue Water Bridge. The property was built in 1926, and then redesigned in the 1950's. It features tree-lined fairways on the Black River, a practice area, tennis courts, housing for management, and an abundant supply of water for course irrigation pumped from the Black River. The auction event will be held on October 17 at the Marriott Detroit Troy.
