10 Straight Tigers Wins

Justin Verlander retired 20 of the last 22 hitters he faced and held the Cleveland Indians to one run on four hits over eight innings, to lead the Detroit Tigers to a 5-1 win on Tuesday night, their tenth victory in a row.  Detroit scored all five of its runs in the fifth inning with Don Kelly smacking a three run home run, his first in all most a month, and Miguel Cabrera doubling in his 100 RBI of the season to give the Tigers the lead.  Detroit is now five game ahead in the Central with the third game in a four game series scheduled for Wednesday night in Ohio.
