It's over 10-miles long, it traverses four different water bodies, including the Black River, the Black River Canal, Lake Huron, and the St. Clair River... and now it's the first-ever national Water Trail in the state and this Saturday will see a dedication event for it.  That's the Island Loop Route, one of only fourteen in the entire nation, with Lori Eschenburg at the county's Metropolitan Planning Commission saying the loop route provides boaters and paddlers with a one-of-a-kind opportunity to navigate four bodies of water, as well as pass by Michigan's oldest lighthouse and travel underneath the Blue Water Bridge.  The dedication event is coming up Saturday at Bakers Field Park in Port Huron Township and it starts at 9:30am. Michigan Senator Debbie Stabenow and Congresswoman Candice Miller will be in attendance. The day long celebration will see activities such as a scavenger hunt along the Black River Walk and tours of the Fort Gratiot Lighthouse.
