PORT HURON TWP GIVES SMALL STRIP OF LAND TO CITY

With a Holiday Inn Express and restaurant getting ready to go up in Port Huron at the former Water Street Marina site, there also was a small parcel of township land involved in the deal. The Township's Board of Trustees took up the matter of annexing the parcel this week. Township Supervisor Robert Lewandowski says the parcel, measuring about 60 by 118-feet, was really of no use to the Township, and the move did not require a vote by residents. The Amerilodge group is the one developing the Holiday Inn Express at the site.  Lewandowski says the parcel annexation just needed approval from the Township board and the Port Huron City Council.
