It's St. Clair County picking itself up and getting the projects done that need doing... that's the Blue Meets Green group, which was born out of the proposed expansion of the Blue Water Bridge Plaza.  The plaza plan remains up in the air due to a lack of federal and state funding, but the Blue Meets Green group is still going strong, pursuing projects and developments that have money coming into the community and developments getting built.  St. Clair County Administrator Bill Kauffman says the group pushed for the Blue Water Area Convention Center, along with the related developments along the St. Clair River shoreline, with one of the current items on their agenda having to do with bringing all the various entertainment facilities under one professional management umbrella, including McMorran Place. Kauffman credits Blue Meets Green with getting lots of outside investment to start flowing into the area, with the convention center project being the key to also getting the Holiday Inn Express and restaurant to go in at the Water Street Marina site, along with many other projects.  He says economic development means more local jobs, with developers realizing what a good area St. Clair County can be for a location.
