Wings Sign Alfredsson



On the first day they could add NHL free agents, the Detroit Red Wings signed 18 year vet Daniel Alfredsson.  The 40 year old native of Sweden has spent his entire career with the Ottawa Senators and is that frachises all time leading scorer with 1,108 points in 1,178 career games.  He has scored 426 goals and earned 682 assists.  Alfredsson's best season was in 05-06 when he scored 43 goals and 60 assists for 103 points.  The 13 time 20 goal scorer has never won a Stanley Cup despite playing in 121 career playoff games and scoring 51 post season goals and earning 100 points.  Alfredsson signed a one year deal with bonus' that could take the deal up to $5.5 million.
