A blown call in the bottom of the eighth set up a big three run inning that allowed the Detroit Tigers to beat the Boston Red Sox 7-5 on Sunday. With the score tied 4-4, Avisail Garcia led off the bottom of the eighth with a fly ball that appeared to be caught by outfielder Daniel Nava. Nava lost the ball, however, when he went to throw it back into the infield and the second base umpire ruled no catch on the play. Garcia reached second base and eventually scored the go ahead run on a Torii Hunter sac-fly. Prince Fielder, who drove in three runs in the game, then added a big two run single to blow the game open in the Tigers favor. Miguel Cabrera added two hits and an RBI in the game. Detroit took three out of four from the Red Sox over the weekend and will begin a three game series with the Angels on Tuesday night at Comerica Park.
